Apple Adjusts Studio Display XDR Pricing Weeks After Launch

Apple Reduces Studio Display XDR Prices

Apple has quietly reduced the price of its Studio Display XDR, weeks after its launch. The VESA mount adapter version now costs $2,899, a reduction of $400 from its original price of $3,299. Similarly, the nano-texture VESA version is now priced at $3,199, down from $3,599.

Website Changes Reflect Pricing Adjustments

The company has also updated its website to make the stand choice the first step in the configuration process instead of glass selection. This change aims to provide customers with a clearer understanding of their options and pricing upfront.

Pricing Alignment with Industry Standards

When the Studio Display XDR was launched last month, both stand options were priced at $3,299, which many felt was unfair given that the VESA mount adapter is a simple metal plate compared to the height- and tilt-adjustable alternative. The new pricing aligns more closely with industry standards where VESA mount versions are typically cheaper than their stand counterparts.

No Price Adjustment for Standard Studio Display

Interestingly, Apple has not made similar adjustments to the standard Studio Display model. Both the tilt-adjustable stand and VESA mount configurations of this non-XDR model remain priced at $1,599.
